Richard Perkins leitet erfolgreich die Ridgedale Farm AB in Schweden, einen der produktivsten und rentabelsten diversifizierten Biobetriebe Europas, unter den schwierigen wirtschaftlichen und ökologischen Bedingungen auf 59 Grad Nord im ländlichen Schweden. Er ist Autor des anerkannten Buches „Regenerative Agriculture – A Practical Whole Systems Guide to Making Small Farms Work“ und bildet Menschen aus der ganzen Welt darin aus, ihre eigenen Höfe erfolgreich aufzubauen und weiterzuentwickeln. Die ökologischen Prinzipien und Prozesse erläuternd, die die Grundlage seines Hofes bilden, wird er auch Einblicke in die finanziellen Überlegungen geben und die Grenzen und Chancen aufzeigen, die sich für Landwirte in ganz Europa ergeben, die in den ständig wachsenden Markt für lokale Lebensmittel einsteigen. Sein systemischer und pragmatischer Ansatz, der Einsatz von Techniken aus der Agroforstwirtschaft, der Agrarökologie, der Permakultur und dem ganzheitlichen Weidemanagement in Verbindung mit relativ geringen Investitionskosten machen seine Konzepte besonders attraktiv für Junglandwirte und Neueinsteiger, die innovative Wege gehen und eine vielfältige, produktive und regenerative Landwirtschaft betreiben wollen.

Während der eintägigen interaktiven Weiterbildung mit Richard Perkins werden wir uns in 4 einhalb-stündigen Blöcken jeweils mit einem Thema im Bereich von Mikrofarming und Regenerativer Landwirtschaft beschäftigen.
Zur Eröffnung jedes Themenblocks wird es eine 20 bis 30minütige Präsentation eines Betriebes geben, die im Weiteren das spezifische Thema des Blocks aus ihrer Perspektive beleuchtet und auf Hürden und Schwierigkeiten damit, aber auch auf Chancen und Stärken eingeht.
In der verbleibenden Stunde soll das Hauptthema zusammen mit Richard Perkins und den TeilnehmerInnen vertieft, Fragen gestellt und beantwortet, verschiedene Lösungsansätze aus Erfahrung und best-practice geteilt werden.
Das Konzept der Weiterbildung ist das eines intensiven Austauschs und der Einbindung des Wissens und der Expertise aller TeilnehmerInnen. Richard Perkins wird uns durch den Austausch führen. Seine langjährige Erfahrung im eigenen landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb und bei der Begleitung vieler unterschiedlicher Betriebe wird dabei nicht zu kurz kommen. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist die Stärkung der TeilnehmerInnen und ihrer Projekte durch die Behandlung und Auseinandersetzung mit konkreten Fragen und Problemen aus der Praxis und durch ein unterstützendes Netzwerk.
- Die Weiterbildung richtet sich an Menschen, die in den Bereichen von Mikrofarming und Regenerativer Landwirtschaft tätig sind oder damit beginnen wollen. Im Rahmen der Landschaftspflegeprämie wird diese Veranstaltung mit zwei Theorie-Stunden angerechnet.

Richard Perkins successfully runs Ridgedale Farm AB in Sweden, one of Europe‘s most productive and profitable diversified organic farms in the challenging economic and environmental conditions at 59 degrees north in rural Sweden. He’s the author of the highly acclaimed book „Regenerative Agriculture – A Practical Whole Systems Guide to Making Small Farms Work“ and trains people from all over the world to build an develop their own farms successfully. Explaining ecological principles and processes that form the foundation of his farm, Richard will also share insights into the financial considerations; highlighting the limitations and opportunities present for integrity farmers all over Europe who are stepping into the continually burgeoning local food market. His systemic and pragmatic approach, the use of techniques from agroforestry, agroecology, permaculture, holistic management coupled with relatively low investment costs make his concepts particularly attractive for young farmers and new entrants who want to follow innovative paths and practice diverse, productive and regenerative agriculture.

During the one-day interactive training with Richard Perkins, we will deal with one topic at a time in the field of microfarming and regenerative agriculture in 4 one-and-a-half hour blocks.
The opening of each block will be a 20 to 30 minute presentation by a farm, which will then look at the specific topic of the block from their perspective, highlighting hurdles and difficulties with it, but also opportunities and strengths.
In the remaining hour, the main topic will be deepened together with Richard Perkins and the participants, questions will be asked and answered, different approaches to solutions from experience and best-practice will be shared.
The concept of the training is that of an intensive exchange and the integration of the knowledge and expertise of the participants. Richard Perkins will guide us through the exchange. His many years of experience on his own farm and in accompanying many different farms will not be neglected.
The aim of the event is to empower participants and their projects by addressing and dealing with concrete questions and problems from practice and through a supportive network.
